Q: Is Sinewave Lab a developer of Kontakt libraries?
While we have developed some Kontakt libraries, that is not our exclusive area of action.
Q: Do I need Kontakt to use Kontakt libraries?
Not necessarily. When we develop a Kontakt library, we do so to take advantage of Kontakt’s awesome functionality : the built in effects, the ability to make the samples playable, and so on. If you want to have access to all these aspects, you will need the Native Instruments Full Kontakt 4.2.3 or above. However, if you don’t own Kontakt, you may still have access to all the raw wav files when you buy a library. This may still interest you, specially in libraries where playability is not the most important aspect of it.
Please be aware that not all of our libraries provide access to the samples folder. Here's the list:
Libraries that provide access to the samples folder:
- Power Hits;
- Soundscape Foundations.
Libraries that don't provide access to the samples folder:
- Electric Guitar Harmonics
Q: Can I use the Free Kontakt Player?
No. To use our libraries you’ll need the Native Instruments Full Kontakt 4.2.3 or above.
Q: My download has a RAR extension. What do I do with it?
A RAR file is created with a free software called WinRAR. It allows to to reduce files’ sizes by compressing them into a new file with an extension RAR. The result is a file which is faster to download. To decompress the file and access it again, you need to install WinRAR and use the extract option.
