Backstory

The story goes like this:

One night, around 2009, Iucky appeared to me in a dream. It was a white snow field, and I could see him in the fog and also hear a bluesy song. That became the foundation of the song Yūki.

Yūki is the Japanese word for snow. But I only found that out later.

It’s all over now
The Winter will come
(My thoughts are fading away…)
In the fog I see
The ghost of Iucky, of Iucky

One interesting fact is that before I composed this track, Iucky used to appear many times in my dreams, and they were always very emotional dreams. But after recording it, this stopped happening. I don’t dream that often about Iucky, and when I do they are normal dreams.

What happened that night, in that dream, felt something different. Like I was really visited by him. And that he brought me this gift, as a final goodbye.

So long, my friend. Perhaps I will see you much later.
